In the field of underwater acoustics, a good sonar data real-time display system plays a crucial role in the entire sonar system. It is convenience for people to analyze and study sonar echo signal using Visualization in Scientific Computing technique. The received sonar data can be transformed into graphics or images and displayed on screen in real-time.The purpose of this thesis is to design and develop a real-time sonar data display and processing system that has practical value, and could provide support for underwater ROV navigation.In this thesis, a detailed study on profiles sonar data visualization technique was provided, which used double-buffering graphics mode and gray transform, image smoothing, sharpening, pseudo-color image enhancement and other methods to improve transform imaging.Design a real-time sonar data display system in MFC and OpenGL Integrated develop environment. Achieve the real-time two-dimensional wave, rectangular and fan-shaped show. Establish the sonar-detect region's real-time display of three-dimensional images.Software interconnection between real-time display system and sonar data processing system was achieved by network communications technique. And serial communication control was used to achieve a state of operator's real-time control.The support for underwater ROV navigation was provided according to the generated three-dimensional images.The validity of this system was proved through the sea trial.
