With the development of science and technology, the data visualization is regarded more and more valuable. It could present a static or dynamic image in people's front from data, provide the powerful method for people to analyze the data, form the concepts and discover the rules.The technology of data visualization is used in explanation and analysis of the data of sonars. This article is based on the national 863 projects: the ROV for the dams'secure detections and composed by essential researches for acoustic vision system.The acoustic vision system of the ROV is consisting of the profile sonar and the high frequency imaging sonar. In this paper, the display and control softwares for the two sonar systems were designed.The real time display software for profile sonar system was developed based on the digital image principle using VC++ 6.0. The real time display software for high frequency imaging sonar system was developed with OpenGL based on the graphics principle. The information between vision system and control system could be exchanged through the nets. Moreover, detailed research of the application of pseudo colored enhancement technology in real time display was carried out. Finally the sonar data was processed using the large-scale terrain technology, and a 3D terrain was displayed.It has been proved that the two display softwares could meet the design requirements through the field experimentations.
