The anti-rolling tank can decelerate rolling of ships. The anti-rolling efficiency of anti-rolling tank mostly depends on the damping,when the geometrical measure arrangement of vertical position and water level have been designed. This paper haves make some work of structure damping for the anti-rolling tank and make some numerical simulation research of the flow characteristic of liquid in tank with the different structure damping by using the CFD commercial software FLUENT.And this paper mainly makes some work in terms of a certain roll-on ship:(1) To deduce the anti-rolling principle of passive U-type anti-rolling tank;(2) That ship adds to anti-rolling tank in front and back rolling sport to respond to characteristic;(3) The research for the mathematic relationship between the damping of anti-rolling tank and the geometrical measure of the anti-rolling tank damper;(4) Studies and uses FLUENT software to carry on numerical simulation to the tank of liquid sport, investigates the different structure damping under of fluxion characteristic. And computes the rolling moment of liquid in tank when the tank happen to rolling.In this paper, the research gives a conclusion that the CFD software FLUENT related RNS solver is effective to calculate the damping of the anti-rolling tank.
