Anti-rolling tank is one of the most popular used stabilizing equipments, it fits for ships working at each speed, it can reduce ship roll, break ice and do inclination tests under some control. The anti rolling tank which were equipped are mostly u-shaped anti rolling tank whatever it is passive or passive controlled tank. The u-shaped anti rolling tank is easily designed and controlled, it has great effect if designed well.The paper is based on the item the ant rolling tank test setup among the school 211 key construction projects. The optimization design of u-shaped tank , the effect of stabilization, design of the control systems and are analyzed.After synthesizing numerous related literatures and reference materials at here and abroad, the development of domestic and oversea anti rolling tank is summarized. Hence, the studying direction of this paper is decided.The mathematical model of "ship-anti rolling tank" system is developed by analyzing the stress of the system. The simulation method is designed, the design method of anti rolling tank is optimized,the stabilization of the ship and relevant effect are simulated and analyzed.The mathematical model of passive controlled tank is analyzed and simulated. The control method of passive controlled tank is discussed based on this model. The controller of the anti rolling tank system which includes hardware structure and software design is designed with the information of relevant product both here and abroad and experience ago.The experiment is the most important part for the design of anti rolling tank. Firstly, according to scaling ratio, the model of anti rolling tank is designed. Secondly, design philosophy of test bench is discussed and then the monitor system of anti rolling tank is designed. Finally, the free oscillation test ,forced oscillation test of anti rolling tank ,the full simulation method and the processing method of related data are studied.
