With the rapid development of computer and communication technology,the microcomputer technology and digital signal processor(DSP) technology have got into the field of microcomputer protection of the transformer substatiaon. Realizing multifunction and intelligence of microcomputer protection with DSP technology and advanced software technology have become developing direction in the future. The research on the protection device of the transformer substatiaon based on DSP is the theme of this paper and the paper has developed a protection device such functions as protection, measurement and control.This thesis emphasizes on the hardware and software design.In the hardware part,because the DSP TMS320LF2407 is adopted as the core of the device, the characteristics of the digital signal processor is analyzed firstly. Then, the overall structure of protection relay is described followed by the individual module descriptions such as data acquisition module, signal processing module and human-machine interface module. To develop efficient software, much attention has been paid to the strict control of the program processing time. Modularization design is used to develop the software, which makes it easy for the modification and extension of the software.The software design of intelligent terminals is aim at the characteristic of sampled parameters; adopt the AC signal sampleing to sample to current, voltage. Through the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) calculate these AC parameters.The system has a friendly man-machine interface which based on Visual Basic 6.0, it though MSComm communication controller of Visual Basic 6.0 to realize series communication between PC and intelligent terminals through RS-485 bus.At the end of the thesis the met questions are summarized and analyzed in experiment of system hardware and software design and debug.
