As one type of non-contact transmission mechanism, electro-magnetic gear can transmit torque and power to closed area by magnetic field coupling. There is no physical contact between driver gear and passive gear of this mechanism. Electro-magnetic gear has special advantages, such as no need lubricating, no greasiness, waterproof and dust-proof, avoiding overload, etc. The value of torque and change when it works is one of vital value of this transmission mechanism. There are many parameters influence the transmittable torque, such as structure of the gear, the number of poles, the rate of length and diameter, gap of gears, the magnetic pole and current intensity, etc.The structure parameters of electro-magnetic gear are explored in this paper. By calculating and analyzing , a rational claw of electromagnetic gear is explored, a pair of electro-magnetic gears are designed. The structure parameters of disk external diameter, iron core conducting magnetic field, depth of gear, valid length of gear and number of strips are designed optimally.
