This subject is a part of the work about research and development KM6 solar simulator equipment. At present, spacecraft thermal balance test generally adopts the method of infrared heat flux simulation in our country, research and development KM6 solar simulator can improve authenticity and veracity of heat flux simulation, and can also meet the demand of late-model spacecraft thermal balance test. In the test, irradiance of solar simulator is an important technical parameter that should be controlled and adjusted, and controlling means of irradiance is also one of key techniques in research and development solar simulator. In KM6 solar simulator, late-model high-power programmable switching DC power supply should be used to be a power supply of xenon lamp, this is a new method without example interiorly and overseas. It is important for research and development KM6 solar simulator, that validating feasibility of late-model high-power programmable switching DC power supply and specification which has been achieved, and researching control technique of irradiance which is performed in the solar simulator which uses programmable switching DC power supply, and realizing control of irradiance. Through researching this subject and testing, we get the research results as follows.1. Consult plenty of technical information, according to researching the course of development and technical characteristic of solar simulator interiorly and overseas, propose the technique scheme about using high-power programmable switching DC power supply in solar simulator.2. According to the demand for measuring irradiance of solar simulator, analyze merits and demerits of two methods about measuring irradiance, and propose the measure scheme which can meet the demand of measuring and controlling irradiance.3. Analyze and research the technique of high-power programmable switching DC power supply, according to the technical parameters of xenon lamp, put forward the demand for specification of the power supply of xenon lamp. After select two kinds of commercial power supply to do tests, acquire plenty of test data. On the basis of analyzing the test data, draw a feasibility research conclusion that programmable switching DC power supply can be used to be a power supply of xenon lamp.4. Design the control system of solar simulator irradiance on the basis of a computer. After analyze the principle of the system, obtain transfer functions of all parts of the system.5. A PID controller is designed. According to simulating control system and analyzing capability of the system, realize the programming of the controller.
