Wind-Corrected Munition Dispenser (WCMD) is one of the important armaments of Air Force's fourth generation guided air-bombs. The weapon is refitted from Tactical Munition Dispenser (TMD) by substituting its afterbody with a WCMD Tail Kits (WCMT). During the weapon's ballistic fall, the wind effects and errors will be corrected by the kit and the landing precision for high altitude bomb-dropping will be improved obviously, and that means WCMD has become a precision-guided weapon outside of anti-aircraft domain.It has affirmative value to study the "Wind-Corrected" mechanism and the system's function which can be used to our researches of Wind-Corrected Guided Air-bomb (WCGA). For the questions mentioned above, as the topic of the paper, the mechanism of WCMT and the function of WCGA (referenced to CUB-105) function are systemically studied and analyzed in this paper.The main contents and conclusion of the research are listed below:The development history of WCMD is summarized, and the progresses of domestic and international correlatively research are reviewed. The structure and the operational principle of WCMD is analyzed, and the maneuver of using the form of "+" or "X" empennages to achieve the control of three channels is studied. The structure of WCGA's inertia-guide and control system is analyzed, the principle of the control-guide loops, the three stability control loops (pitching channel, yaw channel and roll channel), and the electric helm loops are studied.The characteristics of WCAG and the aviation condition are analyzed, and the movement equation of rigid aerocraft in no-quietude atmosphere is built. Referenced to CBU-105, the geometrical shape and typical aviation condition of WCGA are confirmed, and the WCGA's aerodynamic characteristics are analyzed. The calculating and simulating model of ballistic trajectory of WCGA is developed. Making use of the simulating model, the standard ballistic trajectory without wind effect and the error trajectory under the effect of wind are gained by calculating in the condition of no control. The influence of full scale horizontal constant wind field to the system's performance is analyzed. Taked the simulating of controlled ballistic trajectory under the effect of dead wind for example, the function of elevator control to ballistic trajectory is discussed.It is proved that, by choosing right control parameters, the control and guide system can restrain the influence of wind field to the system's flying performance, so that the aim of "wind corrected" comes true.
