Basing on the apply of the special-shaped column and combining the merits of steel reinforced concrete a new structure form - steel reinforced concrete of special-shaped column came into being. As SRC special-shaped column has compatible and beautiful character and its bearing capacity and ductility is excellent, its applying value is higher. At present, some research on seismic behavior of SRC special-shaped column has been done. Most of the researches were carried out by doing experiments of members and joints. But the above researches are difficult to reflect the global working capability of structure. So seismic evaluation of a 1/2 scaled model of one span and two-story SRC frame of T section special-shaped column was performed by the pseudo-dynamic and pseudo-static test. In the pseudo-dynamic test the structure was subjected to different seismic peak acceleration of EL Centro1940 NS seismic wave and the displacement time history curves, displacement-hysteretic curves and so on were achieved; then the pseudo-static test was carried, the structure was loaded to the failure in the test, and curves such as load-strain hysteretic ones werw achieved. By the experiments the dynamic responses, the characteristics of failure and recovered forces, the energy consuming behavior of the structure were studied. Then the finite element analysis and the feasibility analysis that the SRC special-shaped column is only used in the bottom of the structure were done. The experiment and the analysis show that comparing with common special shaped column the SRC frame of T section special shaped column has better elastic working capability. Its ductility and energy consuming behavior are also excellent. As its higher safety repertory, the SRC special-shaped column can be used in the region where seismic intensity is above 8. At last some conclusions and propositions on the design were made. The relative content of the article can be used to do more research on the seismic behavior of the SRC special-shaped column.
