River is a important part of water conservancy engineering.Slope erosion of river is a commonengineering problem.In well—developed cities or densely populated areas,protection of river slope isgenerally choose masonry, dry masonry or concrete revetment measures.Though the measures can solvepractical problems, it is costly, and have some bad effects on environment.From the examples of some projects at home and abroad, we found that: Soil-bioengineering used toprotect river slope not only can solve practical problems ,but also can reduced project cost greatly.However, the study shows :Currently, from theory to experiment works ,analysis of Soil-bioengineeringfrom the river slope erosion to slope stability are lacking .The following are included:(1). From the erosion mechanism of river analysis the type and form of river slope erosion;(2). From the basic mechanism of plants reinfocing soil, study the relationship between plant roots andsoil erosion of river;(3). From the view of the mechanics systemly analyse basic mechanics model of plant roots to reinforcingsoil on the river slope;(4). Select models on typical section of river;(5). Feasibility study with experimentation on soil-bioengineering model.
