Design optimization of electrical machines is a nonlinear constrained and mixed-discrete objectives optimization problem. The object function and constrained condition are hard to express by some formulas. So how to ameliorate motor optimization model and optimization arithmetic is a question which people care about. Based on the studies theory of synchronous motor and electromagnetism design of synchronous motor, genetic algorithms (GA)-based optimization design of synchronous motor are fully discussing in this dissertation.The main work of this dissertation includes:Firstly, based on introducing basic theory of synchronous motor and basic configuration of synchronous motor, main functions of electromagnetism design of synchronous motor were deduced.Secondly, genetic algorithms (GA)-based optimization design was studied. As the theoretic basis of our research works, the principle of GA and is related aspects are proposed in details. Based on above studies and the specialty of motor optimization design and the influence of essential of GA on motor design optimization, ameliorated GA is carried out.Thirdly, based on ameliorated GA, the design GA-based optimization of electrical motor model is established. The object of optimization design and parameters of optimization design are discussed.Finally, software based on above studies in Zhuzhou motor company is developed. The software includes electromagnetism design system and optimization design system. The structure and flow charts of system are introduced. A motor of optimization design contrasts against a motor without optimization design.
