Two-tower tall structure, which is widely used in recent years,is a kind of complicated tall structures.It has contend two independent towers,which are connected by the base structure.It is flexible to arrange the structures and it suits the economic development. Theories and design methods of two-tower tall building structure have been researched.But the structure is complex. Vibration mode, period, seismic force and displacement of seismic response of two-tower structures were researched.The methods of analysis and decrease of torsional response of two-tower structure were improved in this thesis.First of all, the basic analytical methods of two-tower structure were introduced and the properties of vibration mode of symmetrical two-tower structure were discussed.The properties of six kind of basic vibration mode of symmetrical two-tower structure and the influence in structure were analyzed.Then, the seismic responses which include the vibration characteristics of the structure such as vibration mode,period and the structural seismic response effects which contain the floor seismic force and displacement between symmetrical two-tower structure and single-tower structure were compared.The influence of seismic response on the tower spacing,base height and base stiffness of the structural arrangement on symmetrical two-tower structure was analyzed. Compared with the two kind of asymmetrical two-tower structure and corresponding symmetrical two-tower structure, the seismic responses of asymmetrical two -tower structure were analyzed.Especially, in the first kind of asymmetrical two-tower structure, as the height ratio of the two towers is different, the tower interaction and the influence of the structural seismic responses were revealed, the advantageous height ratio of the two towers in seismic resistance was obtained, and the possible relation of the various property between the structural seismic shear force and the floor seismic response in different height ratio of two towers was discussed.At last, torsional responses of seismic effects of two-tower structure were studied. The calculation method of the floor torsional stiffness on the basis of anti-torsion concept and the torsional calculation of the normal high-rise buildings has been improved.The method has been used in the period ratio control of the torsional response of the multi-tower structure and confirmed that the control method is effectively in the example and contrast. The main points of the overall control of torsional response of the Two-tower structure have been pointed out.
