As the transitional product between the electric vehicles and traditional vehicles, the hybrid electric vehicles get more and more attention. During the process of developing hybrid electric vehicle, an unavoidable problem is how to coordinate the relationship between the engine and other power sources. The hybrid electric vehicle multi - energy powertrain controller is the key component to achieve that function. The microcontroller of the hybrid electric vehicle multi - energy powertrain controller is MPC565 which is manufactured by Freescale. In this paper, the power supply module, CAN bus communication module, serial communication module, analog-digital conversion module, PWM drive module and so on, have been designed.By a through study on the standard of the OSEK/VDX, an embedded operating system conforms to the OSEK/VDX standard has been used in the software. The GNU tools are the main tools for compiling, assembling, linking, and debugging. The application software is divided into some tasks and interrupts according the control strategy. The relationships between tasks or interrupts are described in this paper, and the functions of each task or interrupt are assigned. The flow charts of the tasks and interrupt are drawn in the paper. And then the programs of the tasks, interrupts and other functions are coded with c language and assemble language.On the basis of others, the CAN bus network has been construct, and the communications protocols have been developed.At last, a study on the control system of the electronic throttle has been made. The direct current motor of the electronic throttle is controlled by the PID Algorithm. By regulating the value of the proportional, integral, and differential coefficient of the PID controller, a good result has been got.The Debugging results show that the hybrid electric vehicle multi-energy powertrain controller works well.
