In addition to surface water, another important source of industrial and domesticwater is groundwater, which has many advantages when compared to surface water.Moreover, water that contains too much Mn2+ can be harmful to people's productionand living.Since quality of groundwater varies geographically, the promotion and theapplication of manganese removal is often limited. Therefore the search for a moreeconomic and effective way of manganese removal is needed.This topic that refers to the research on the daily water in the some regions ofNanchang City discusses the reason why manganese is over mark in the water, andputs forward a way to solve this problem. The emphases of this topic are studying thetechnology on how to clean out manganese from the water.The first process is doing a static adsorbing experiment between manganese sand,quartzite and modified ceramsite. This experiment proves that the best effect inadsorbing Mn2+ is manganese sand. Then make do the dynamic experiment. By thedynamic experiment we can observe the amount of clo2 that puts into thegroundwater, the PH value in the water, the speed of filtration and the temperatureof water have an effect on the removal of manganese.In the experiment clo2 serves as oxidant and manganese sand is filter media. Byexperiment we find a new united technics to remove the manganese.The experiment shows the best effect is that the PH value is neuter, thetemperature is 10℃and the speed of filtration is 8m/h.
