With the development of industry and science, especially Power Electronics, electric devices become popular gradually. It is easy to see that conventional methods of power supply are almost direct electrical contacting mode. These methods are obviously not fit for the development of society.CPT(Contactless Power Transfer)system realize safe, reliable and high efficiency contactless power transfer from stationary source to movable loads via magnetic coupling .It combines of modern power electronics, magnetic coupling technology, high power-high frequency convert technology (including resonant transfer and Electro Magnetic Compatibility technology and so on) and modern control theory and methods. It overcomes disadvantages of traditional power transfer system, It's a new way of power transfer.In this paper, research status and products of CPT are briefly introduced. The principle of contactless power transfer, basic structure and function of each part are analyzed later. The classification and characteristic of the electro magnetic structure in CPT system are briefly introduced, and the characters of the structure are analyzed particularly, including material of magnetic core, material of coil, magnetic circuit, inductive coupling and energy characteristic. Especially, the magnetic circuit is analyzed. The division method is used to accurately calculate the gap magnetic resistance. The mutual inductive coupling of the electro magnetic structure about U structure and E structure is researched respectively with the Maxwell simulating software. The simulation plan is properly made. The factors affected the mutual inductive coupling are researched particularly, such as magnetic material, position of the coil, the way of the coil winding, the length of the coil etc. at last, draw a conclusion, and it can take an active role to the design the electro magnetic structure. Finally, the experiment result verified simulation. It can supply the theory and practice gist to the optimized design to CPT system.
