Plate-cone reticulated shell is a new type of space structures of halfcontinuity and half lattice, it is a type of double-layer reticulated shell inwhich Ventral members is replaced by cone element. Researches forPlate-cone reticulated shell in our country and overseas is not verysufficient, the research focuses on discussion of structure forms andintroduction of engineer practice. This paper carried out the deep study onstability ultimate bearing capacity and failure mechanism of Plate-conereticulated shell considering geometrical nonlinearity of cooperating workbetween plate and member.In the forming technology of Plate-cone reticulated shell, this papercompiles procedure in Fortran language in order to create Pre-processingProgram for Plate-cone reticulated shell, it can create each finite elementmodel for force analysis only need to input a few geometric parameters, itcan economize the Pre-processing work greatly for modeling, so that it can carry through analysis and design further for Plate-cone reticulated shell.In this paper, stability bearing capacity considering geometricalnonlinearity is analyzed for Plate-cone reticulated shell with four differentkinds of structure forms using large finite element analysis softwareANSYS, tracking complete process balance path for load-displacementusing arc-length method, the several problems of Plate-cone reticulatedshell are studied, such as destruction mechanism,structural ductility,stability ultimate bearing capacity and strength reserve, some importantconclusions are obtained. The four influence factors on stability capacitybehavior of Plate-cone Reticulated Shell is studied, such as StructuralForms,Rise-to-Span Ratio,Plate Material and Boundary Condition,influence degree of this four factors on stability ultimate bearing capacitybehavior is analyzed, and the some conclusion are obtained. Afteranalyzing the stability behavior of double-layer reticulated shell by ANSYSand comparing with Plate-cone Reticulated Shell, that Plate-conereticulated shell is more advantageous than double-layer reticulated shell isproved by the study in the aspect of stability bearing capacity behavior.
