Exploration And Analysis On The Atrium Design Of The Public Building

The embryonic form of atrium was appeared several thousand years ago. With the continual development of the building material and architectural technology, the form of atrium is increasing. Now, the atrium has been appeared in various kinds and dimensions of buildings, such as the commercial building, culture and education construction, office building, medical building, exhibition architecture, etc.This paper firstly discusses the development of the atrium, and analyses the functions of the atrium.Secondly, this paper discusses the atrium design of the public building from the architecture design, energy conservation design and landscape design. In the study of the atrium design, this paper discusses space design, lighting surface design,traffic space design and fire protection design. In the study of the energy conservation design, this paper discusses light environment, thermal environment and the utilization of renewable energy.Finally, this paper analyses some examples of atrium design of the public building, and briefly summarizes the atrium design of the public building in the hope of providing a reference for the atrium design in the future.
