Bi-directional DC-DC Converter can perform two or more functions. The power can flow in either direction, depending on the location of DC source and the load. It is one of the useful methods to reduce the size, the weight and the cost of the power system.This paper first introduces broadly application background of Bi-directional DC-DC Converters. Topologies of Bi-directional DC-DC Converters based on basic DC-DC Converters are given. Considering of the applications of high power situation, this paper gives out a Push-pull Full-bridge Bi-directional DC-DC Converter with RCD snubber circuit. Two operation modes are analyzed in detail. The principle of operation is verified on a 2kW experimental circuit. The small signal model of Push-pull Full-bridge Bi-directional DC-DC Converter is constructed and the system transfer functions are presented. Then voltage control principle and its realization circuit are researched and the system is analyzed through frequency simulation with Matlab.
