With the development of the society, it needs more and more bi-directional DC/DC converters. Bi-directional DC/DC converters are used widely in DC/AC uninterruptible power systems, solar power system, electric vehicle power system, fuel cell system, multi-port hybrid power supply system, DC power amplifier and elevator system. Because bi-directional DC/DC converters used widely, it is useful to reduce the size, the weight and the cost of the power system. Soft switch techniques push it developing in higher frequency and higher efficiency. Its research is becoming a central issue and also a difficult problem in power electronics industry.This paper first introduces the transformation from a one-way DC/DC converter topology to the bi-directional DC/DC converter topology. Based on the Push-pull converter, this paper gives out a Push-pull Full-bridge Bi-directional DC/DC converter. With the expansion and extension of the push-pull full-bridge bi-directional DC/DC converter, I find a lot of related bi-directional DC/DC converter topologies. In practice, the new topology can reduce the switching losses and improve efficiency. The paper analyses the reasons of magnetic bias of the proposed converter and give the methods to eliminate the magnetic bias.This paper analyzes the two operation modes of the push-pull full-bridge bi-directional DC /DC converter and conduct a simulation analysis. In theory, the two-way flow of energy is possible. In this paper, a detailed design of the converter was carried out, it includes the main circuit, control circuit and driver circuit. This paper produces a low-power test prototype of the working principle, and gives the test waveforms, the test results verify the theoretical analysis is correct.
