With the rapid development of the building industry, the waste of building have been growing day by day, and most of them are waste concrete. Besides the charge for an abundance of waste disposal is very much, it also is harm to the environment and society. In addition, the large demand of concrete request the exploitation of natural resources—sand and stone, and so the natural resources has been on the exhausted edge for the unceasing exploitation. Moreover, besides the exploitation and transportation of natural sand and stone expands largely, it also destroys the environment badly. The recycled concrete based on environment protection and sustaining development can settle the problem.This paper first studies the physical properties of recycled concrete and nature concrete, and the axial compression of the recycled concrete columns and the nature concrete columns is discussed.On the physical properties, the paper studies particle size distribution,apparent density,void fraction,water absorption and crushing value of the recycled aggregate, and compares them with that of the natural aggregate, and analyses the reasons causing differences between the two kinds of aggregate. All experiments take orthogonal experiment design and each concrete mixture ratio considers three influences factors, including the recycled coarse aggregate, FDN and fly ash. Then we analyses that the three factors have an effect on the workability and mechanical properties of recycled concrete.On the structure, the axial compression of the recycled concrete columns is experimentally investigated, the failure modes and loading capacity of them are mainly discussed and compared with the nature concrete columns. In the during, the strain of the column inside and outside is be measured and the difference of them is analyzed.In the last of the paper, the difference of the recycled concrete and the nature concrete is analyzed in the microstructure and we compare the recycled concrete with the nature concrete in the economy and environment. In conclusion, it is feasible that the recycled concrete is applied in the structure.
