Pipe network optimization design has very great meanings in reducing the fabrication cost of the project, especially in case of the fund in short in initial stage for economic construction ,it seems particularly important to carry on the systematic optimization design of the pipe network .At first ,this text has explained Content and meaning of supplied water pipe networks optimization design , introduce various kinds of existing optimization methods briefly, analyzes that has compared various kinds of optimization methods and pointed out its deficiency existing. Then, it introduces the basic principle of the simulated annealing algorithm (SA ) and the basic principle of genetic algorithm (GA ), and conbines two algorithm together organicly to design simulated annealing and genetic algorithm (SAGA), SAGA are on good terms to draw its performance than general simulated annealing algorithm (SA) and genetic algorithm(GA) in theory. Afterwards , the text have proved with the actual project example that simulated annealing and genetic algorithm (SAGA) is better than the general genetic algorithm(GA) in seeking excellent ability and speed of restraining. Finally, the author looked forward to the follow-up work.
