Bridge holds the key position in the communication and transportation system. Once they are destroyed in earthquake, there will be great difficulties for the emergence managements and bridge restoration. By evaluating the seismic capacity of every member of the bridge structure process of grasped wholly, and the weak position of the structure may be found so that the bridge will be strengthened before earthquakes. Estimation of the bridges offers a basement for both the reliability analysis, damage assessment and retrofit of the bridge structures and emergency responses after earthquake. At present, push-over ananlysis is used widely to seismic evaluating of structural. The analysis of bridge which is constructed has proved the application of push-over method in evaluation of seismic capacity high-rise pier continuous rigid frame bridge.The procedure of constructing the bridge model and the push-over analysis in SAP2000 has been introduceded.In the total bridge model two deferent of push-over analysis are calculated in the transverse direction and longitudinal direction. On the three different loading modes for bridge structure, the physic behavior of bridge structure, the position and occurrence order of plastic hinges are gotten. Based on that, the vulanerable sports are illustrated when structure on earthquake. Also the different results between based on the 1-st mode force distribution and consider the effects of high modes force distribution have been studied. Results indicate that it can't overlook the effects of high modes in high-rise pier bridge.The seismic demand spectra are gotten based on the Specifications of Earthquake Resistant Design for Highway engineering(JTJ 004-89).The evaluation of seismic capacity of bridge structures are gotten in the conditions of different solid and different intensities.The applying characteristics and limitation of the method evaluation of seismic capacity high-rise pier continuous rigid frame bridge based on push-over analysis have been summarized.
