The development of power electronics technology drives the development of high voltage direct current transmission (HVDC) technology. In the coming era of Big Power Grid Era, HVDC technology reflects its advantages. Light high voltage direct current transmission (HVDC Light) technology develops on the basis of full control type semiconductor material development. HVDC Light keeps the full control type semiconductor material Insulated-Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) voltage source converter (VSC) remaining dominant relatives to the traditional HVDC half control type semiconductor material thyristor.The thesis analyzes the advantages of space voltage vector pulse width modulation in the rectification and inversion ( small waste of switch, small contents of harmonic wave, high usage of voltage), does research on its mixture realization, and sets up its simulation model under the MATLAB/ Simulink, of which it includes estimated space voltage vector sectors, calculates the time of the function of the two nonzero vector and zero vector on the each sector, calculates the switching point of vector, and finally exactly realizes the space voltage vector. Simultaneously, it sets up stable mathematics model after analyzing the theory of HVDC Light and fixes the control pattern. According to the relationship of control magnitudes and controlled magnitudes, it designs the proportional integral controller(PI controller), and it usesδ1 to control Qs1,K1 to control Ud1 in the rated direct current voltage control pattern and usesδ2 to control Id2,K2 to control Qs2 in the rated direct current control pattern. K2 is the control magnitude and Us2 is the controlled magnitude in the rated alternating current. After theoretical analysis, it establishes each control model and HVDC Light model through MATLAB/Simulink, makes simulations on the both ends linking with the active network and HVDC Light systems supplying power to the passive network, compares the simulation results of HVDC Light systems and traditional HVDC systems and tests the advantages of HVDC Light systems on reducing harmonic wave contents and the exactness of control.
