The theory of Collaborative Demonstration was proposed by analyzing the concept, content, process and methods of current equipment demonstration. It made use of the advanced collaborative technology of SBACEs (Simulation Based Acquisition Collaborative Environment) and CSCW (Computer Supported Cooperative Work), Collaborative Demonstration for equipment consists of a series of concepts and technology that in detail expatiates on it's basic character, the mode of organization and decision making based on IPT (Integrated Product Team), the system architecture and the basic modules and the major function of the collaborative demonstration system, the process model of collaborative demonstration particularly. The collaborative demonstration process model that based on SIMILAR process model improved the process of old equipment demonstration, and implemented the scientific management whose functions are performed in a collaborative, parallel and iterative manner. The Investigate Alternatives which is the most important function of demonstration process is studied as Tradeoff Analysis for alternatives. By summarizing the applications of tradeoff analysis, this thesis proposed the completed process model for tradeoff study and presented standardized methodologies for carrying out tradeoff analyses. To compare and evaluate the different alternatives, the Reference-Dependent Regret Model (RDRM) was studied to avoid decision-making mistakes that occur because of the factor of psychology or emotion. For complex tradeoff studies, Cost-Utility Analysis (CUA) was extended as Cost-Utility-Regret Analysis (CURA). The regret is incorporated as an element of CURA that characterizes each alternative in terms of its monetary cost, an aggregate performance utility, and a regret value. This provides decision makers adequate information to compare the alternatives and depending on their values they may trade off some performance and cost to make perfect decision making. At last, an application example was studied to explain that the demonstration for tank armored vehicles was improved by use of the collaborative demonstration process model and alternative tradeoff analysis based on CURA.
