Axial-flow pump was widely used in every area of national economy, and it is very important to improve the capability of study and design for the development of national economy and the economization of resource. Interior flow of pump must be deeply studied to improve the efficiency of axial-flow pump and extend its condition range and enhance its reliability. Because of the complexity of interior flow field, the comparison between experiment and numerical calculation is little at present, and it can't fit for the design of high capability axial-flow pump. Therefore, it's necessary to predominate its real interior flow through the method of experiment and numerical calculation and offer theory gist for optimization design and performance improvement.Based on above consideration, the hydraulic design of impeller and guide vane of axial-flow pump, 3-D modeling technique, internal 3-D uncompressible turbulent flow calculation and experimental research were deeply discussed. The main work and conclusions are listed as follows:1. A brief description of the axial-flow pump development in internal and overseas was analyzed objectively. Fundamental theory of hydraulic design of axial-flow pump was elaborated. An axial-flow model pump was designed.2. The PEO/ENGINEER software was applied to design the axial-flow pump. The hydraulics professional software Gambit was used to carry on generating unstructured grid of the interior fields.3. Based on Reynolds Average N-S (RANS) equations and k-εtwo-equation turbulent mode, finite volume method was used to discrete N-S equations, and second order central difference was used to solve velocity. The SIMPLEC's algorithm was used to solve the coupling between pressure and velocity. The interior field of axial-flow pump was calculated at three different conditions. To compare with the results of experiment, the method of dividing axial plane and axis section was used to attain the dimensional orientation of the measure point.4. The current experiment system was improved, and external performance of axial-flow pump was tested with guide vane and without guide wane. Using the five-hole probe to measure the flow parameters at inlets and outlets of impeller and guide blades. Velocity and pressure distribution curves were given. 5. The experiment data was analyzed to compare with the results of numerical computation. It can be concluded that the flow field at the outlet of impeller is spiral movement and guide wan has little effect to impeller and so on, which will be referenced by the further design and researches of axial-flow pump.
