Public transportation is one of the most important transportation modes. As a development strategy of urban traffic, Transit priority becomes a necessary choice to solve traffic jams in many cities of our country. Although the policy of public transportation priority has been put forward for a few years, public transportation has become worse and worse in recent years in China because of lack of technical insurance.Bus priority is a comprehensive concept, which consists the methods of law, policy and administration and so on, applying this method to every hierarchy of urban planning and traffic planning, endowing the bus priority on the road in every time and place, promoting all kinds of technology and methods of bus priority. The implement of transit priority presumes the broad application of transit priority techniques. But now, the studies about transit priority techniques are relatively lack, and which is mostly focused on the strategies study.Hence, basing on the analysis on the composing of transit priority techniques, the paper studies the design methods for bus lines, transit signal priority ,the layout of public bus stations , the road intersection public transportation first entered the tastes and the distance between two of them on emphasis. three intersection scenarios were evaluated by microscopic traffic simulation model, VISSIM. Result indicates that the average person delay at intersection with TSP strategy decreases greatly compare to the scenario without it, while the overall vehicle delay increases slightly as well.Last,by the analysis of public traffic actuality of Nanjing city, analyses the needing and feasibility of the implementing in Nanjing city, and put forward the infection and subsistent problems and suggestion.
