Arc Protection System And Its Application To The Internal Fault Of LV/MV Busbar

The busbar is the important constituent of the electric power transmission, andthe safe and reliable of busbar protection are directly related to the security and thestability of the electrical power system. Because the busbar has the breakdownregularly accompanied by the arc light, if we can not promptly fix the busbarbreakdown, it will cause serious harm to the electrical power system.Therefore, usedwith the arc protection system, the busbar breakdown will so fast relieve that theelectrical network operates safely.This article discusses the arc protection device applying to the LV/MV busbarbased on the digital network technology. The principle and the plan of the system areintroduced firstly, then the functions of each subsystem. On the comparison to theexisting high performance hardware, we select DSP (TMS320LF2407) to makeprimarily the unit controller and single chip AT89C51 to take the auxiliary unitcontroller, which not only satisfy the requirements and lower costs, as well as theexpansion of the late development function. Because the electrical network structurequite is complex, we use the centralized management and decentralized control.Using with CAN bus, we realize that a lot of DSP (TMS320LF2407) communicatewith the PC machine correspondence. And we have the friendly man-machinecontact surface, so we can detect the fault and go promptly to the scence to removethe fault, in order to enable the electrical network fast to put the operation. PCmachine is connected with database to record history data, which is useful forinquiring which channel happens arc fault in the later period and the analysis systemmovement situation.
