China is a big country at building dams in the world, since 1949 about eightyseven thousand dams were constructed which laid a good foundation at hydraulic andhydropower construction and played an important role in county economy. Becauseof the factors of hydrology, geology, design, construction quality, management andmaintenance, materials' aging and so on, many dams have hidden troubles, it will notonly influence the benefit of the projects, but also threaten the safety of the lives andwealth of down stream. Once dam burst, it will result in disastrous tragedies and greateconomic loss. As the time pass by, there will be more and more old and sick dam,and the safety problems of dams will more and more stand out, and will become thefocus problems of attention and solution in this century. The analysis of dam'ssecurity monitoring data is an important means to judge dam's running status andinner mechanism of dam structure and provide the scientific basis for operating safely,prediction and forecasting, strengthening and enriching design theories.Based on the summarizing of dam safety monitoring general situation, theexternal measure data of concrete dam are systematically researched by using thetheories and methods of mathematics and mechanics combined with the knowledge ofdam engineering. Mathematical statistic model, hybrid model and BP artificial neuralnetwork model of WanAn concrete gravity dam are established. The primary contentsare as follows:1. Discussed are the basis principle and method of establishing mathematicalmodels of main observation variables of concrete dam.2. Horizontal displacement variation rules according to water level, time, andtemperature are researched by analyzing that of WanAN several dams.3. Combining the structure conditions of the dam and its foundation, horizontaldisplacement hybrid model of WanAn NO.4 dam sections PL01 measuring point areestablished.4. The mathematical statistical model and hybrid model of dam deformationmonitoring is as the basis of the research that artificial neural network is applied to analysis of deformation monitoring for dam. The horizontal displacement hybridmodel of WanAn several dams are established with the improving BP neural network,and the analysis result is that the simulating effect and forecasting precision of theimproving BP neutral network is superior to the mathematical statistical model.
