The thesis focuses on the actuality of full charge operation andinsufficiency which caused by the rapid development of the HangzhouXiaoshan Airport's telecom service, and discuses the solution and its meritof GPON technology applied in airport communication. PON is capable ofthe flexibility and economical application. With the increasingdevelopment of the FTTH (Fiber To The Home), PON (Passive OpticalNetwork) will be fit for the dispersed buildings and users zones where aredispersed and users in each zone communicate concentratly. So, PON isthe FTTH solution with best performance price ratio.Access Network (AN) is one of the components of thetelecommunication network, which transmits the datas to the userstransparently. That is, the users can access the different service nodesthrough the AN. The basic principle of GPON system is that theONTs(Optical Network Terminal) as most as possible share theOLTs(Optical Line Terminal) and fibers under the condition of physical and bandwidth limitation. GPON solution can provide the high-speedoptical access for the airport with the less fiber and lower cost than thetraditional access structure.From the principles of PON, the thesis analyses the current PONtechnology. And GPON is the FTTH solution for the integration of the data, voice, and video services. The third chapter introduces the GPONproductions available on the market and the key technical issues. In thesecond half, the thesis analyses the application and the commercial case inXiaoshan Airport. Compared with the traditional access solution, GPONcan bring the benefits from the service, investment.The research of the thesis provide the heuristic case of the GPONmarketing application. It expatiates on the GPON advantages from thecommercial case and systemic analysis, which is realistic meaning for theGPON's application and popularization.
