When automotive industry is developing quickly and people's desireto automotive performance is increasing, brake vibration has become animportant problem that the auto companies need to solve immediately.Based on reading the literature extensively, in this paper the Disc Brakeperformance was analyzed and studied by using Virtual PrototypeTechnology, including Automatic Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical System(ADAMS) and Finite Element Analysis Soft (ANSYS). The main contentsare as follows:First the background of brake vibration was summarized, includingmechanisms and causes of brake vibration and research methods forreducing vibration. Virtual Prototype Technology and its soft wereintroduced. The dynamic equations of rigid multi-body system and flexiblemulti-body system were established. The paper introduced self-excitedvibration theoretical of disc brake vibration and studied the non-linear vibration model induced by the change of friction factor between the rotorand the pad, such as stick-slip friction model and negative damping frictionmodel. Also the vibration model of disc brake induced by mode couplingwas analyzed. Then a vibration mathematical model for representing the vibration ofdisc brake was presented. The rotor and the pad were represented by usingcontinuous flexible beam. After the Model Neutral Files of the rotor and thepad were generated in ANSYS, they were led into ADAMS for buildingbrake flexible model. In this course, the MACRO command was applied toadd dummy parts and joints on the model, and to create contact forces andmodify contact forces. At last the multi-flexible simulation of disc brakewas built up. After simulation, some structural parameters of disc brake caneffect the vibration, such as damp of rotor, damp of pad and the geometricshape of pad. Form the result they can reduce or restrain the vibration.
