As a kind of modern material handling equipment,good braking performance determines safety degree and work status of the crane largely.As the trend of high incidence on the crane and elevator safety accidents,it is necessary to study on it.Disc brake is an important braking and safety protection component on the crane,and the temperature rise caused by friction heat in the brake disc will lead to a decline of friction coefficient and braking torque,resulting in braking failure and dangers,so its safety and service life depends largely on the temperature rise.The judder and squeal problem of disc brake also affect the braking reliability,and crane brake performance was studied in detail used by ANSYS in this paper.Firstly,the maximum temperature rise in single braking was obtained through the theoretical derivation,and the temperature field,stress field,deformation field distribution,temperature rise curve and temperature variation curve when considering cooling time were got by coupling simulation of the emergency braking in ANSYS;and then repeatedly changing the braking time for simulation,we found that the temperature rise was reduced as the increase of braking time;finally the influence of different materials matching on the braking performance was explored by the simulation results of different brake disc and friction lining materials.Secondly,the cumulative saturation temperature rise of disc brake was calculated theoretically by cumulative after n braking,and the temperature distribution,serrated temperature curve and cumulative saturation temperature rise of disc after repeated braking was got by the simulation on crane work cycle braking in ANSYS;then the impact of braking cycle on temperature rise,thermal recession phenomenon and its prevention the crane brake measures were explored;and then work level of the brake was divided according to braking frequency from the perspective of temperature rise and its rationality was explored,which can instruct the design and production of crane;finally,based on the simulation results the fatigue damage and life of brake disc were analyzed using the Manson-Coffin formula.Thirdly,the generation mechanism of squeal and judder problems which were often appearing on brake disc brake were conducted,and we found that the resonance was the main cause;and then the characteristics value and deformation map on different modes were got through the simulation of brake vibration in ANSYS;and finally some control measures were put forward.
