The Town Of Tianchang Old Building Style And Artist Questions

Tianchang Town, located in the west of Hebei Province where Shanxi Province lies next to, is dotted with a large variety of ancient constructions. They usually belongs to such five different sorts as ancient official offices and state schools, altars and temples, official mansions and common residences, bridges and post roads, almost covering each field of ancient local architecture. The ancient architectural group here concentratively symbolizes ancient Chinese architectural style and aesthetic ideology, showing Chinese features in the field of architecture.Through the study and research into the ancient architectural group of Tianchang Town, Jinxing County, my thesis aims to get a clear idea about the geographical environment where the ancient architectural group came into being, and cultural and historical background. Meanwhile, its ancient architectural style and features are put in a detailed analysis, as well as the architectural aesthetic ideology, especially the particular aesthetic wisdom in Chinese civilization, implied in its constructive concept and geographical features. I sincerely hope that we can learn something from my research and study and make efforts for the repair works, protection and development of the ancient architecture in Tianchang.
