Because of energy crisis and stringent exhaust emission legislations, more emphasis arelaid on how to reduce both energy consumption and emissions. There are a number of wayscan achieve this objective. Among these methods, combustion with compound of diesel oiland ethanol is an effective one. At present, there are two main methods of combustion withcompound of diesel oil and ethanol on diesel, one is emulsifying combustion which adoptingemulsified fuel, another is dual fuel injection system that controls the fuel-ethanol proportion.They both have some disadvantages. To the front one, for example, it's fuel-ethanolproportion is not unalterable, catalyzers are too expensive and so on; The latter one has tomodify the structure of the diesel a lot. Therefore, developing a novel system of diesel onlineemulsifying combustion that is characterized as simple construction, accurate control, andvariable water-fuel proportion is necessary.This system adopts AVR single-chip microcomputer as Micro Control Unit (MCU).According to the signals, including rev of the diesel, location of accelerograph, MCUdifferentiates working conditions of diesel, and then analyze, and check the data table to getthe optimal fuel-ethanol proportion, and sends it to PWM to adjust the frequency of ethanol-injection electromagnetic valve to get the fuel- ethanol mixture with accurate proportion. Theoptimal proportions under different working conditions are acquired by engine bench tests.Diesel bench test under specified working Conditions results show that energy consumptionand emissions are reduced obviously. The status of other working conditions needs studyingfarther more. In addition, based on carefully examinations, this system, characterized asaccurate water-fuel proportion, fast control response, if finished, can be widely used invehicle diesels, marine diesels and fuel electrical machines.
