Because a lot of inductive loads are used, there is much Reactive Power in electric power pool, as a result a lot of power is wasted. At the same time, it effects power badly and will reduce the natural life of the electrical equipment, especially it will break the equipment, so it is indispensable to study and develop a advanced Reactive Power Compensator. In the market, there are a lot of kinds of Reactive Power Compensator, but many of them are not accurate or quickly enough; only a bit of products are good on the compensatory effect and time, the disadvantage of that products is the price is too high, many of the factories cannot afford to the compensator. The aim of the paper is to develop a new kind of Reactive Power Compensator, which can resolve the lack of the products.The traditional compensator devote or removal the capacitor according to the power factor, every magnitude of the capacitor is equal, they work circularly, and there are three disadvantages of that traditional compensator, first the precision is low; second the cycle is too long; third the controller will be the undulatory.So a new compensator is developed, it resolves the disadvantages above, In the paper a advanced Reactive Power Compensator is designed, it is based on the single chip micro controller, and advanced manipulative arithmetic, it can compensate reactive power timely and accurately. First the compensator control the capacitors according to the reactive power; second the Reactive Power compensator uses the coding 8421, so that it improves the precision of it; third the new compensator can count the reactive power one step.In the thesis, the most important part is the manipulative arithmetic, which contains the coding of 8421 and its control according the reactive power, as a result the controller could compensate quickly and accurately, at the same time the undulation could be avoided.During the debugging of the Reactive Power Compensator, every function is carried out, the precision is upper, the anticipative aim is achieved.
