Small Towns Reorganization Research Of City-and-town Concentrated Area

With the rapid propelled urbanization in china, Small Towns in Yangtze River DeltaRegion and other high-density town areas are beginning to disunite and reorganize underthe function of many kinds of developmental mechanisms: some grow into small cities;some begin to go downhill; some combine others to become the functional area, somecombine others to make up the community, while some take one step ahead to strengthenits specialization function, it has of great theoretical and practical significance to study themechanism and theoretical frame of differentiation and reorganization of small towns, andto refine the mode of reorganization under such background.This paper bases on the first-hand data from the survey in small towns in Suzhou andmore than the 10 study items about small towns partaken in by the author.it studies thetheory and mode of small towns' reorganization in squeezed areas. The full text iscomposed by four parts:The first part is a preface including the 1st and 2nd chapters, it mainly introducesthe origin,the identification,the significance, the research technique of the study as wellas domestic and foreign research tendency in this area.The second part,which is the 3rd chapter, is a theoretical discussion, based onanalyzing the influential factor, mechanism and foundation of small towns' reorganization,it construct a reorganization theory frame. this frame emphasis that the reorganizationshould go under internal structure reconstruct, with the core of function acceleration,thepremise of protecting the ecology, the power of the industrial integration, the carrier ofspatial reconstruction, the promotion of social structure transition and the support ofinfrastructure conformity, it goes deep into the function acceleration, industrial integrationand the spatial reconstruction.The third part is a survey research, including the 4th,5th,6th and 7th chapters. In theguidance of the theoretical frame and according to the differences of reorganizationbetween small towns in Suzhou,it summarizes 4 patterns of reorganization based on "thefunction-industry-space",which includes the new city town, small towns' functional area,small towns' community, the specialized small tiwns.this chapter works on the 4 patternsseparately.The forth part whch is the 8th chapter,studies the policy. It proposes suggestions tohow to implement reorganization to small cities. The main conclusions of this paper is as follows:(1) It constructed the theoretical frame for the reorganization of small towns andproves this viewpoint from 3 aspects: function acceleration, industrial integration andspatial reconstruction.(2) it summarizes 4 reorganization patterns based on "function-industry-space inone",which includes the new city towns, small towns' functional area, small towns'community, the specialized small towns.this paper works on the 4 patterns separately.
