With the continual development of industrialization and the appearance ofglobal energy crisis, human being begin to realize the disadvantage brought to natureenvironment for economic development, how to treat the relations of human andnature and conserve energy is the common issue of every country. In architecture, torealize the continual development, including protect environment and conserveenergy, experts and architects are profoundly studying the ecological architecture. However, the surrounding structure of architecture—"envelopes" is the important partto embody ecological capability, which is like the skin of human beings, not onlyprotect "inner organs" in comfortable environment it can work as normal, but breatheefficiently, also finish the transfer of energy. Their designs are the fundamentalassurance to complete the task. In the basis of our studying the theories of ecologicalarchitecture and the situation of our nation, this thesis is expected to point out theecological design methods of the building envelopes. The dissertation consists of five chapters. Chapter One, "Ecology, Architectureand its Envelopes", formulates the generation and development of ecology andecological architecture, and addresses the concept of architecture system and itsspatial boundaries. Chapter Two, "Ecological Elements of the Building Envelopes ",describes the influence factors in designing the spatial boundaries of the ecologicalarchitecture. Chapter Three, "Ecological Architecture Technology of the BuildingEnvelops ", introduces the ecological technology about the building envelopes design, including the constructer technology, material technology and intelligent technology.Chapter Four, "Ecological Case Analysis of the Building Envelops ", analyzes twosuccessful cases designed by some foreign architects, these successful experienceshave direction significance for the road of ecological architecture envelopes in ourcountry. Chapter Five, "Epilogue", summarizes the ecological design methods andtechnologies of the building envelopes, and sparkplugs the ecological architectureculture.
