The transportation of heavy-haul is the significant breakthrough for the traditional railway transportation way of our country, it asked that the concept and knowledge of people have greater change , at the same time it also brought plenty of problem in the aspect of transport organization and technology. For these problems it must be paid much attention, solve it positive , cautious and have steps. The transportation of heavy-haul is concerned with every field of railway transportation , therefore it has very profound meaning to study and explore for it.Because of the increase of train quality, length and the vehicle gross rail load on axle that caused the increase of hauling force and brake force in operation ,the extension of brake wave transmit time, and the crossing section of the working line of train is also complex. Therefore, the stress condition of heavy-haul train is more complex. The experience with the development of heavy-haul transportation in the world wild shows that the pull quality of heavy-haul train depend on the technical condition of locomotive and vehicle equipment mainly, so vehicle buffer is one of the crucial technology, and to confirm various parameters in operation of heavy-haul train such as displacement, speed, acceleration, hook force , bumper and brake displacement etc is one of the keys to ensure every research work to coordinate progress, it must be paid attention enough, so it has very important meaning to develop new buffer.The buffer that researched by this paper distinguishes with traditional buffer. With new clay buffer as example, establishing train longitudinal dynamics simulation model, according to its structure and principle analyse the force - displacement and force - speed property of this type buffer in detail.In the environment of MATLAB/SIMULINK ,this paper established single vehicle collision model at first. Using single vehicle collision model, simulate data such as hook force, acceleration and bumper in each time for every vehicle, and compared it with experiment data, through repetitious compare to make simulation and experiment data have better consistency , and perform the buffer property. Apply this curve in train model , based on it and with the minimum train longitudinal impulse, aim at the scale of train maximum and minimum impulse force satisfy vehicle longitudinal maximum promise tensile compression, at last optimize the ideal train buffer characteristic.This paper simulated buffer characteristic curve as bilinearity curve, and according to optimization principle to optimize the rate of slope with each section in order to reach the purpose that reduces vehicle hook force. Through the comparison result of optimization fore and after, we know that under different initial conditions such as vehicle hook gap and the brake initial speed, maximum vehicle hook tension and compression force all have greater range of reduction after optimization, thereby reached the purpose of optimization.
