The 42nd tipper is an improved product of 108 ton tipper which used in some mining area mineral in the northeast by one factory. This mining area in the high and cold area, has the very long period of time temperature below -20℃every year, the lowest temperature even achieves -40℃. Moreover the mining area state of roads is extremely complex, not only has the rugged mountain road, also has the quite smooth unsurfaced road and the asphalt road. the pivot is an important constituent on its frame. It has the very important fluence to the entire vehicle normal use and the service life. Because in the actual process, pivot itself as well as the joint of pivot and the latter crossbeam frequently has the situation that the break expires. This not only could bring the huge direct economic loss to the mining area, if consider the indirect economic loss because of the engine off service at the same time, the theactual loss will bigger. The pivot rupture has also seriously harmed the social prestige of this tipper production factory. Therefore, discover the reason and propose the corresponding improvement measure to the pivot rupture as soon as possible has the important economic efficiency and the social effect. This topic has analysis and research the expiration reason of the pivot so as to propose the counter measure.The auther initially conclude the break caused by fatigue through the macroscopic observation and analysis to the fracture. Secondly, manufacture the test samples of the break pivot and the not damaged pivot deferred to the correlation experiment the national standard ,then take a series of performance experiment on it, such as chemical compenent, mechanical and dynamic capability, electricity-lens, mettallogrophic analysis and so on. Finally, discovered the expiration mechanism of the pivot through the contrast analysis to the experimental result. This article has conducted the research through the conventional stress computation and the finite element analysis to the 42nd vehicle stress distribution condition, finally indicated sells the pivot break is not the overload and the stress concentration creates, its structural design basically conforms to the requirement. But in order to enhance the anti-impact performance of the pivot, improved measure is brought forward, and ANSYS software is used to do further finite unit analysis and configuration of the pivot after amelioration is proved rational. Because the fatigue at low temperature is main reason to the break of the pivot. Therefore this article also carried on the fatigue at low temperature of the pivot and proposed the related counter measure. Because the tipper movement operating mode is very complex, this article also analysis the fatigue load spectrum of the pivot when the tipper moved in different roads so as to determine whether the pivot secure or not.The break of the joint between the pivot and the latter crossbeam mainly is the coustruction break, and the break phenomenon is very frequent. So this artic has also analysis and research in view of this program and proposed the relate improvement measure.
