Seismic soil-pile-superstructure interaction (short for "SSPSI") is one of themost important problems in bridge seismic analysis and design. With sufficientcomprehensive reading, the author studied and computed various simplified methodsfor SSPSI analysis. The main contents were organized as follows:â—†Winkler methods, simplified methods of SSPSI analysis, were introduced, and thetheoretical backgroud and features of these methods were summerized andcompared.â—†Mechanical behacior of pile-foudations of bridges under horizontal static load wasstudied, using the P-Y curve method. The influence of pile-soil parameters of P-Ycurve method was studied. The m-method was compared, and its limitations werethen found out. Using the m-method is able to achieve the same results of P-Ycurve method by special choice of the value of m.â—†Mechanical behacior of the piles under horizontal seismic excitation wasdiscussed, using the dynamic P-Y curve model. The infection of variousparameters of soil in this method was discussed. The inflection of seismic input tothis method was discussed.â—†Taking the dynamic P-Y curve model as a criterion, the author analyzed bycomparision several simplified SSPSI methods commonly used in China, andpointed out the disadvatages of them by researching on the mechanical behaviourof the structure under various seismic excitation. It was suggested dynamic P-Ycurve model, which could be modified to be adjust in common softwares, use inseismic design of bridge.
