It is important to study the discharge capacity and energy dissipation measures for the beneficial side effecting and the safety of the mid-low head sluice-dam project.Based on the model test of Jin Xin sluice-dam project which lies on the Jia Ling River , this paper studies the influence of different sluice-dam floor panel s relative altitude to discharge capacity , gives the experiential calculation formula for discharge coefficient at this condition , confirms the exactitude and applicability of the formula based on the practical project. At the same time , based on the correlative theory , the paper analyzes the following problem: the weir flow with hi(?)h relative degree of submergence ; the discharge coefficient's simple calculation way of freedom weir flow; the discharge coefficient's exact calculation of gate flow , then some useful and practical conclusions are obtained .In order to solve the energy dissipation problem of the mid-low head sluice-dam project, in this paper there introduces a new stilling basin style-Jia Ling River Stilling Basin (J.L.R.S.B) according to the model test and the hydraulics calculation . Then shows the preferable application of the pool style as analyzing its practical effect,its mechanism of energy dissipation and its hydraulics design process , suggests to apply this pool style in the project with the similar hydraulics conditions . Through the theorical discuss of the energy dissipation hydraulics design method , the paper obtains the simple calculation way of the shrink depth-h_c . Related the energy dissipation , there are some discusses as following : strobe discharge operation,the influence of pier gate's diffuseness to the hydraulics design of energy dissipator,the optimum collocation of assistant energy dissipator , etc , then obtains some useful and practical theory and formulas in the paper too .
