Slurry pump means for pumping of solid particles with a solid-liquid two-phase mixture, which contains large amounts of acidic medium and hard particles, thus the flow of slurry pump parts often suffer strong erosion, the impeller, heart part of the slurry pump, is especially abraded faster than the others.The wear characteristics and the main wear and damage parts of impeller, the key parts of the slurry pump, were analyzed in this paper. According to the wearing mechanism of centrifugal slurry pump, the effect and its law on wear of the slurry pump were studied from the fluid nature of the solid particles, solid-liquid two-phase flow characteristics of the movement and impeller material. It proved that the smaller the slurry pumps delivery particle size or density of two-phase flow is, the more serious impeller exit gets wear. The larger the slurry pump delivery particle size or the higher density of two-phase flow is, the more serious impeller entrance gets wear. Meanwhile, slurry pump mechanism and the wear rate index have a close relationship, the speed index and solid particles relate to the impact angle and the materials of impeller. The advantages and disadvantages of materials commonly used on the flow of slurry pump parts were introduced; the principles of selecting the wear-resistant materials for the slurry pump flow components are pointed, which provide the basis for material selection on the flow components of slurry pump.Hydraulic design of the slurry pump is a method to improve the performance and service life, a reasonable hydraulic design can significantly improve the wear resistance of slurry pump. According to Solid density and wear in the slurry pump impeller, the hydraulic design method of impeller was introduced in this paper, pointing out that the shape of blade would meet with direction of flow rate basically and may be made corresponding parts thicker during hydraulic design. Using the existing hydraulic impeller design and experience coefficient calculation method, it is reasonable to determine the main parameters of impeller geometry and provide basis on impeller design.The determination of the size of stress, strain and strain distribution in improved slurry pump impeller at idling and working through the finite element stress analysis, the establishment of the impeller flow of work -- solid coupled finite element equation and the analysis on the modal coupling in impeller provide a theoretical basis on the impeller design.
