The research on society colony formation of Chinese Han ethnic group has always been the subject extensively concerned with in the field of anthropology and history. Hundreds and thousands of consanguineous compact community centered on ancestral temple, kindred plow field and family tree sprung up in China after Song Dynasty. At that time, consanguineous clan was the basic society organization, which with blood relationship as its invisible tie and area as its visible tie.The thesis is aimed at studying regional characteristics of consanguineous culture in the south-east of Shan Xi, discovers the relationship between assembled inhabitation of Chinese consanguineous clan society and village patterns and compares their generalities and differences by taking two typical consanguineous villages in northern China - Xi Wenxing and Tie Lu as examples, though the method of deduction (that is from the concrete buildings and villages to more abstract consideration as the characteristics, generalities and differences between villages)The thesis is divided into six parts as following:Chapter 1, introduction.Chapter 2, research structure and methodChapter 3, research on the blood relationship of Xi Wenxing and Tie LuChapter 4, distribution and function comparison between Xi Wenxing and Tie LuChapter 5, villagers comparison between Xi Wenxing and Tie LuChapter 6, the relationship between consanguineous culture and village buildingThe thesis analysis that the compact communities with same blood relationship and in the same areas should preserve the same culture and same community pattern, at the same time adjust to various natural environments as well in order to form new compact community with same pattern but different geographical formation. It begins with distribution, functional formation of compact community and the characteristics of villages. Then focus on compact community's pattern, site selecting, general distribution, road, water draining and flood control, etc, based on the research about Xi Wenxing and Tie Lu, by connecting anthropology, sociology, history and archaeology.According to the thesis, the village buildings can be divided into two parts—public buildings and residential buildings through careful survey . Furthermore, after making a deep comparison about the pattern elements, technology and art of the buildings, the generalities and specialties in residential building formation have been discovered. So we can study the traditional compact community at a higher profit and efficiency lever. Moreover, it advocates that as to the compact community villages like Xi Wenxing and Tie Lu, the attention should also be given to Tie Lu in the protection of Xi Wenxing in order to keep the consanguineous structure wholly and transfer the historical information to offspring.
