Evaporative emission of gasoline vehicle is emphasis of light duty vehicle emission controlled. This paper studies two technology ways about controlling evaporative emission of gasoline vehicle. These are decrease total HC evaporative mass of gasoline vehicle and increase working performance of carbon canister.About how to increase working performance of carbon canister, this paper illustrates several technology way of how to advance the ability of HC adsorbed by active carbon by analysis basic theory of physics adsorption. Using test condition, this paper tests those ways of how to advance carbon canister working performance. These successful theory have increasing active carbon performance, like chancing hole distributing of active carbon, altering geometry characteristic of carbon canister, altering set position of canister on vehicle, using different type active carbon in a canister, chancing inner geometry figure of carbon canister and adding purge volume of canister, etc. These test data show the ways have importance role on advance working performance of carbon canister. Using these technology steps, evaporative emission of gasoline vehicle have clearly decrease.By test investigating confirms the influence factor about HC evaporative mass of gasoline tank. The factors are fuel volume in gasoline tank and gasoline face volume in fuel tank. This paper considers real conditions and test validates some means to reducing HC evaporative mass of fuel tank. These means including: by chancing the material of fuel tank reduce fuel temperature's hoist owing to heating fuel of tank by outer quantity of heat, get rid of return fuel system of engine, design inner geometry characteristic for keeping the least evaporative face volume, etc. This paper study some way how to reducing background evaporative emission of gasoline vehicle. These test data show the ways have importance role on advance working performance of carbon canister. Using these technology steps, evaporative emission of gasoline vehicle have clearly decrease.Using method of compared test study evaporative emission of alcohol-gasoline. Test results show evaporative emission of alcohol-gasoline is higher than gasoline, when not controlling RVP of mixed fuel and using gasoline and analysis level ethanol and analysis level methanol mixed to produce alcohol-gasoline. The evaporative emission of M15 methanol-gasoline is higher than the evaporative emission of E10 ethanol-gasoline. But using ethanol-gasoline of sale in the market, the evaporative emission of E10 ethanol-gasoline is equivalent to gasoline. The test data of working performance of carbon canister and evaporative emission of vehicle show the E10 fuel of sale in the market is adapted for evaporative emission controlling system in the gasoline vehicle.At last, this paper study on-board refueling vapor recovery (ORVR) system. It introduce every part of whole system. By this study shows it is integrant to controlling refueling evaporative emission in our country and we have ability and technology to controlling it.
