Structure retrofitting is an important research field in civil engineering, retrofitted metal structure with carbon fiber reinforced polymer sheet is a new form of retrofit and became more and more popular in steel structure retrofitting. Compare with the traditional method of retrofit, retrofitting metal structure with FRP sheet has many outstanding advantages, such as not lead to serious stress concentration, will not generate residual stress, construction convenient, low maintenance costs. Currently the research and application on retrofitting concrete structure with CFRP is relatively mature, but the metal structure with CFRP retrofitting still have many issues yet to be research. This paper have a more systematic theoretical analysis and experimental research on interface bonding properties of the metal structure retrofitting with CFRP sheet. As follows:Because of great difference between retrofitting metal structure and reinforced concrete structure with CFRP, the paper has a elaborate discuss on the metal structure retrofitting with CFRP, including the bonding mechanism, the factors affecting bonding, the work principle of CFRP retrofit metal structure and potential failure mode of metal structure retrofitting with CFRP material.Analysis of interface stress axial tensile metal component with CFRP retrofitting; Analysis of one-way interface shear stress on CFRP retrofitting metal component using fracture mechanics analysis model, the bond strength and the effective length of the theoretical calculation formula are given.Aim at the great differences interface between concrete with metal, experiment the performance infect of glue water brush or not; For existence of the effective bond length, experiment the bond length of one way interface shear stress and compare with the theoretical formula, have the formula optimized. The characteristics of the stress distribution, the process of bonding shear failure and damage characteristics of the bonded surface are analyzed at same time.Through experiment research and analysis get a number of conclusions and recommendations for development and improvement of retrofitting metal structure with CFRP has an important reference value.
