As a new reinforcement technique, the reinforced earth with geotextile has already been widely applied to retaining wall, steep slope, embankment and ground treatment, and obtained the good result. It has been testified that the water vented through geotextile and the soil consolidated when the moisture capacity of soil increased, but the interaction between soil and geotextile will die down, the shear strength of the whole reinforced earth lowered, and the stability became bad.In this paper we designed the direct shear test and the triaxial test of the reinforced earth with geotextile. In order to decrease the influence of the size effect of soil, we made the pure soil firstly, and then added geotextile; the test chose appropriate the velocity of loading to simulate the situation of soil actually.According to the data of test and the theories of the reinforced earth, we have researched deeply on the shear strength of the reinforced soil using cement strengthened method. Through the direct shear test, all of the friction coefficient ratio and residual strength data have increased, and this was said that friction between soil and geotextile has been improved by cement in the situation of high water content. By the contrast analysis, we got the variation disciplinarian of the shear strength of the soil with the different method of reinforcement, and found out the best way to reinforce. This also validated that cement strengthened method was able to heighten the early strength of geotextile, made sure of the strength of soil and geotextile to exert synchronization, and made up the geotextile only to raise the internal friction angle, but lower to the cohesion of the soil. By putting forward the concept of the superimposed effect of the stress dispersion, this paper has pointed out that there was a minimum reinforced space, and gave the formula of it at this foundation. According to the absorbing experiment and the triaxial test, we got the conclusion of that the cement layer had little influence on the water draining of geotextile. We checked out application result of the cement compensation method by counting the concrete engineering.The experiment results adequately showed that the cement layer could availably reduce the influence of water to the cohesion between soil and geotextile, and enhanced the stability of the reinforced earth. Therefore, the usage of cement compensation method in the reinforced earth had important significance towards the expansion application of the reinforced earth.
