Hydraulic technology has been widely used in modern industry and hydraulic noise is attracting more and more attention these days. In this paper hydraulic noise of steering system of a certain ship was research theoretically.Plunger pump in the steering system bring fluid pulsation, there out bring pressure pulsation in subsequence system. In this paper the mechanism of plunger pump fluid pulsation engendering was analyzed and noise reduction measure which is to install accumulator at the outlet of plunger pump to reduce fluid pulsation was brought forward. Mathematical model that accumulator absorb fluid pulsation was formatted and attenuation characteristic that accumulator absorb fluid pulsation was analyzed. Simulation research was carried through. Simulation result indicate that accumulator absorb fluid pulsation is marked.Hydraulic impact which engender between proportional valve and hydraulic cylinder is important noise source. The paper analyzed the mechanism of hydraulic impact theoretically and lodge measure that install accumulator at the inlet of proportional valve to absorb hydraulic impact. Mathematical model that accumulator absorb hydraulic impact was formatted and attenuation characteristic that accumulator absorb hydraulic impact was analyzed. Simulation research was carried through. Simulation result indicate that accumulator absorb hydraulic impact is outlying with frequency.Load impact between proportional valve and hydraulic cylinder was analyzed as a problem of valve controlling cylinder. The paper lodge the measure that install dynamical pressure damper between the proportional valve and cylinder to absorb load impact. Mathematical model was formatted. Primary parameter of dynamical pressure damper was theoretically analyzed and correctly confirmed by simulation. Theoretical research on certain ship steering system noise reduction is not only useful to this system but also normal hydraulic system.
