| Thermoacoustic engine is a new type of engine, which is based on the thermoacoustic effect. Without any moving parts and with inert gas as working fluid, it has many advantages over traditional engines, such as simplicity, reliability, long non-maintenance operation and pollution free. Refrigeration system driven by thermoacoustic engine has promising future in application of cryogenics and air-conditioning.The history of thermoacoustic is reviewed, followed by a brief introduction of linear thermoaoustic theories. Through the study of DeltaE, a model of Stirling thermoacoustic engine was built. In order to increase the acoustic power output of thermoacoustic engine, simulation and experiment of multi-output system has been performed. With nitrogen of 2.4MPa as working gas and pressure ratio near the compliance of 1.20, acoustic power is gotten from the compliance and the resonator of the thermoacoustic engine simultaneously. The result provides reference for making gradational use of acoustic energy of thermoacoustic engine and driving multiple loads. Finally, experimental study on a thermoacoustic engine driven by combusting gas has been performed. With nitrogen as working fluid, the maximum pressure ratio reaches 1.29 with the filling pressure of 1.2MPa, and the maximum output power reaches 250.3W with the filling pressure of 2.4MPa. The maximum pressure ratio reaches 1.34 with the filling pressure of 1.2 MPa by using membrane to control the Gedeon steaming. |
