Since the 1990s, many countries have called on the environmental protection and the reduction of the oil which resulted in all kinds of electric vehicle's appearance. The hybrid car has not only the long working hour's performance of the engine but also the non-pollution's performance of the electric motor. In the recent years, the PLUG IN hybrid car has been the researching focus. There are many PLUG IN hybrid cars used in California in USA based on the prototype car of Prius, Escap etc. The PLUG IN hybrid car can not only use as the electric car but also use as the conventional car, which has the incomparable advantage.The paper has studied the design of the vehicle's blue print, the matching of the drive system, the research of the control strategy and the experiment of the drive system, based on the company's project—the research and development of HFJ7161PHEV which is supported by a grant from the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 programs).At first, I finished the design of the vehicle's blue print according the definition and the performance target of the vehicle. I connected the engine and electric motor with unilateralism clutch. With the above understanding, I finished the matching of the drive system and building the critical model of the vehicle.I divided the vehicle's working situation into five special working situations and designed the control strategy which is built in Matlab\Simulink environment. And then I ran the emulator in order to know how the drive system's parameter and control strategy effect on the vehicle's performance.Then I designed the hardware and the algorithmic flow chart of the vehicle's control system according to the drive system's structure and the control strategy.At last, I designed the hardware system and the process of the experiment in order to test the communicationg, management and adjustment of the drive system's performance.
