The paper introduces the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis of high-speed ro-ro passenger ship's power system, and use the main switchboard as example to have an emphasis study. With the method of FMEA and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, assessed safety of main switchboard, and complete operation software.As an important method of reliability assess method which has been widely applied in a lot of fields. The paper introduces origin, developing, basic concept and analysis method of FMEA. Specifically the relationship of FMEA and reliability evaluate, comprehensive safety evaluation theory. Assessed high-speed ro-ro passenger ship's power system.Fuzzy mathematics show tremendous vitality and penetration as soon as appeared. Fuzzy mathematics is very important in system analysis which has been proved in practice. It can solve some problem which can't be solving in common mathematics. So it has been widely applied in national economy and science. The paper use fuzzy comprehensive evaluation to calculate parameter in FMEA, so the analysis can be more accurate.As high-speed ro-ro passenger ship's power system was very complicated and have a lot of equipment which was affected by environment (temperature, moisture, magnetic field, etc.) very much. So when fault occurred, it is very difficult to analyses the problem. The paper analyses high-speed ro-ro passenger ship's power system with Failure Mode and Effect Analysis. Use the main switchboard as example to have an emphasis study, and finished FMEA table.Finally, develop computer software with Visual Basic 6.0 programming language. The program can be run in the Windows XP operating system. The program improves the speed of calculation. And it is simpler ,convenient and more data can be preserved. The contents of the paper for high-speed Ro-Ro Passenger Ship FMEA there have a practical application value.
