Although the use of beams on elastic foundation is very common, there is no easy way on the calculation of beams on elastic foundation. Large finite element softwares, such as ANSYS, SAP2000, MARC can accurately calculate the beam, but they are all by the use of common finite element software, claiming for designers' adequate experience, and the reasonable set-up of the parameter, which make the modeling and calculating process very complex. Therefore, it is necessary to adopt a easy and applicable beam analysis method. PKPM-JCCAD is a particular calculation software for the beams on elastic foundation. Owing to late design and development, this software needs many improvements. This is the background of this thesis. This thesis systematically analyzes and compares various models of beam calculation. The results turn out that PKPM could calculate the beams on Winkler foundation accurately, and could also be used in project design calculation. This thesis makes an analysis of the internal force of beam from three aspects: the force under foundation, the class of concrete and the floors of the building. After the comparison of the upper structure, foundation combination function method and the method of equivalent beam, the method of equivalent stiffness of Meyerhof equivalent beam could not lead to the accurate result. Therefore, in order to get the suitable multiples of the equivalent beam, this thesis make use of 128 models and get the suitable multiples of the equivalent beam, so as to calculate the different settlement. After the multi-parameter non-linear calculation of the 128 models, a curve of multiples of the equivalent beam is summarized. After several tests, the equivalent beam formula proves to be accurate.
